Netflix has been on a hot streak when it comes to original programming, with smash hits including Marvel’s Jessica Jones and House of Cards, plus cult favourites like Bojack Horseman – the greatest show ever made.

In total there were 16 Netflix-commissioned scripted shows released this year. Now the company’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos has unveiled plans to radically increase their output to 31 shows in 2016.
“This is high quality stuff,” he told the UBS Media Conference in New York. “This is programming people want to watch.”
