Ripper Street looks as royally gripping as ever judging by RadioTimes.com’s exclusive first look at the series four trailer.

Queen Victoria might be secure on the throne, but Whitechapel is as deadly as ever with Matthew Macfadyen’s DI Edmund Reid reuniting with his old partner Bennet Drake (Jerome Flynn) to try to keep the peace.

MyAnna Buring’s Long Susan meanwhile is facing the hangman’s noose, with her husband Captain Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg) watching on.

Series four sees two major new cast members, David Threlfall and Harry Potter’s Matthew Lewis, join the Victorian thriller, which will air on Amazon Prime in January 2016.

Nice moustache, Neville…

The menacing voiceover says it all: “Whitechapel is rotten and wild. It is heaving, pitiless and ignorant.”

Just a regular day on the beat for Reid and Bennett then.
