Coronation Street: David to end his marriage to Kylie in the run-up to Christmas

Kylie to be left reeling after David walks out

David Platt is to walk out on his wife Kylie as Christmas approaches, telling her that their marriage is dead.

The pair’s volatile relationship is to hit fresh turbulence after Kylie sides with Sarah and tries to convince her not to abort Callum’s baby.

But this show of solidarity causes an angry David to declare that he no longer wants to be Kylie’s husband.

“Kylie’s really upset – she just wants to make the situation right and for the family to find peace, but she just didn’t expect for David to actually leave!” says actress Paula Lane.

David is desperate for the Platts to put their killer secret behind them, but Sarah’s baby would be a constant reminder of that fateful night when Kylie bludgeoned Callum to death.

But is David’s ruthless behaviour scaring Kylie? “Yeah, it does scare her. She’s obviously aware that he has a past and that this is kind of the way he operates. But this has the potential to do a lot of damage to the marriage.”

Scenes to be shown on Friday 18 December will see Kylie pleading with David to come home, if only for the sake of young Max and Lily.

But then she adds that if he can’t do that, then they should definitely call it quits for good.  So is this really it for David and Kylie or will they find a way to weather this latest storm?
