Iron Man and Captain America get down and dirty for first Civil War trailer

Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans aren’t BFFs any more

The first trailer for superhero sequel Captain America: Civil War is here – and things aren’t looking great for bosom buddies Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) and Captain America (Chris Evans).

In the new footage, the formerly Avengin’ twosome are put on different sides of a debate over superhero registration, with Cap and his gang very much against the proposal to oversee capes but Iron Man’s crew in favour.

Predictably, this leads to some fireworks, culminating in an awesome shot where Captain America and Bucky (Sebastien Stan) knock the tin snot out of Tony Stark.

Ooh – that’s gotta hurt.

Really, it’s the trailer that has everything – except of course Martin Freeman’s mystery character, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man or an appearance from Tom Holland’s brand-new Spider-Man. But hey, at least it offers us a quick glimpse of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, who will later star in his own movie.

See? Good things CAN come from violence. Thanks for teaching us, Marvel.

Captain America: Civil War will be released in 2016
