I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here Now! presenter Joe Swash has let slip the trick he uses to combat sweaty armpits while filming in the jungle – panty liners.
“It’s so hot out there, I really struggle with sweat from the armpits,” the former King of the Jungle told RadioTimes.com.
“That’s my little trick; get a panty liner. It’s almost like it was made for your armpits. It’s got the sticky wings, they keep them in place,” explained Swash, who returns to the Australian studio this year alongside returning co-host Laura Whitmore and newbie David Morgan.
“They really do the job,” he said, adding with a grin: “If it’s really hot you go for a heavy flow…”
“I’m going to brand them: Swash’s Sweat Pads.”
Whitmore confirmed that the story is “all true”, admitting he’d given his spares to her.
“Before we went to Ant and Dec’s party last year he said, ‘I’ve got a present for you’. It was half a pack of panty liners. I was like, ‘Thanks, I’ll put them in my clutch bag!’”
And it seems to have got their new co-host thinking too. Morgan – who has stepped in this year for comedian Rob Beckett, who has both a tour and a baby on the way – has a solution to the potential new jungle horrors he hears about every day.
“I want to get one of those big hamster balls made and just live in that.”
