Someone slowed down Alvin and the Chipmunks songs and the results are terrifying

Is it just us, or does it sound a bit like a True Detective theme?

Coming from the realm of ‘so simple we can’t believe we never thought of it before’ is chipmunkson16speed, an idea from Toronto-based musician Brian Borcherdt where he slows down the songs of cartoon characters Alvin and the Chipmunks to a fraction of their usual speed.


The results (achieved by playing the chipmunks’ oeuvre on a record player with a slower speed of 16RPM) are incredibly creepy – but also still pretty musical.
