Bradley Cooper has responded to Jennifer Lawrence’s frustration at women being paid less than men

The American Hustle actor is mentioned in Lawrence's "why do I make less than my male co-stars?" essay — and he understands why

Bradley Cooper has addressed Jennifer Lawrence’s frank and refreshing essay for Lena Dunham’s website Lenny about being paid less than her male co-stars. Lawrence found out during the Sony Hack that actors like Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper all earned more than she did after “negotiating powerful deals for themselves.”

Her Silver Linings Playbook co-star said he agreed with Lawrence. “There’s a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure,” he told ET Canada.

“This is just one aspect. Anytime there’s a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken – something Sienna did, or Jennifer – that’s great… I think it is making a difference.”

Sienna Miller, who stars with Cooper in new film Burnt, has also talked openly about the gender pay gap in Hollywood, revealing that she walked away from a play because she was offered half what her male co-star was promised.
