SICARIO ★★★★★

Emily Blunt’s straight-laced FBI agent gets mixed up in the seriously shady underside of the US war on drugs in this gripping action narco-thriller set south of the Mexican border. When the enigmatic Benicio Del Toro turns up, it’s clear something’s not quite right, but there might be a clue in the title: the trailers tell us “sicario” means hitman in Mexico.

THE WALK ★★★

You may be familiar with the rousing documentary Man on Wire, which tells the story of a French tightrope walker who once stepped out between the peaks of the Twin Towers in New York. It’s such a good story – with obvious visual appeal – that director Robert Zemeckis decided to tell it again, this time with Joseph Gordon-Levitt on his tippy toes.

SUFFRAGETTE ★★★★

One woman’s freedom fighter is another man’s troublemaker – as we find out in this powerful period drama. Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter join the fight for female franchise against an indignant patriarchy.

REGRESSION

Detective Ethan Hawke gets mixed up in something bigger than he bargained for when investigates the case of a teenage rape victim (Emma Watson), in this thriller with a satanic twist.
