Lake Bell and Simon Pegg seem to be a perfect match in this romantic comedy. But, hang on, Bell shouldn’t have been on their blind date in the first place. And now Pegg has found out… Yep, you got it, everything’s going to kick off now.

SUNSHINE SUPERMAN (PG)
★★★★

Warning: if heights make you a bit wobbly at the knees, this film may have you gripping the sides of your sofa. Marah Strauch’s documentary is a portrait of Carl Boenish, the man who started the craze for Base jumping. The free-fall footage is amazing, and the insights into Boenish equally captivating.

SPOOKS: THE GREATER GOOD (15)
★★

For those left bereft by the end of the BAFTA-winning BBC TV series, here’s a stand-alone adventure for the MI5’s counter-terrorism unit. This time it’s Kit Harrington doing all the legwork, as he is tasked with tracking down missing section head Peter Firth and foiling a bomb plot.

Director Andrew Bujalski has come a long way since his days making zero-budget “Mumblecore” movies. Now he has the kind of clout that can attract Guy Pearce and Cobie Smulders (she of Avengers SHIELD agent fame) to his projects. This offbeat comedy casts the pair as trim gym bunnies into whose world comes slovenly Kevin Corrigan.

RUTH & ALEX (12)
★★

The Oscar-winning double act of Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman is the big draw here, as they play a couple in their 70s who decide to sell the Brooklyn apartment that’s been their home for 40 years. Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon co-stars as the pushy estate agent trying to sell their des res.
