Comedian Jack Dee is to be the new host of the BBC2 Apprentice spin-off show You’re Fired.
He will be joined by new regular panelist, and fellow comic, Romesh Ranganathan to discuss the week’s events in the Alan Sugar businesstainment show and quiz the exiting candidate on BBC2 immediately after the main BBC1 show.
Dee replaces Dara O Briain who announced in January that he would be stepping down from his hosting role of the companion show after five years in order to spend more time concentrating on his comedy.
The new host has form on The Apprentice, having made it to the final boardroom before Lord Sugar in a 2009 version of the show.
“I’m very much looking forward to hosting You’re Fired and hope that the luckless candidates will see me as the friendly face at the end of a difficult time in their lives,” said Dee of his new gig.
Romesh Ranganathan added: “As a massive fan of The Apprentice, this is very exciting for me. I love You’re Fired and am looking forward to putting all the questions to the candidates that people at home want to see asked. I also have a number of business proposals of my own that I think Lord Sugar will be pretty interested in…”
The Apprentice (and therefore its companion show You’re Fired) will return to the BBC this Autumn.
