Richard E Grant is to appear in the sixth series of HBO’s fantasy drama Game of Thrones, RadioTimes.com can confirm.
The British actor, 58, will play a yet-to-be-named character in the television adaptation of George RR Martin’s bestselling novels.
Best known to many for his starring role alongside Paul McGann in Bruce Robinson’s 1987 black comedy film, Withnail & I, Grant has enjoyed a long and varied career on both the big and small screens. As well as enjoying critically acclaimed performances in films such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula, in recent times television viewers will recognise Grant from his appearances in Doctor Who and Downton Abbey.
The multi-award winning Game of Thrones is shown on Sky Atlantic in the UK and will return for a sixth series in spring 2016.
