Atteeeeeen-tion! The first trailer for Dad’s Army film has landed

Get the first proper look at the star-studded big screen remake of the classic British comedy

Following on from a poster telling sceptics “don’t panic!’, the first trailer for the Dad’s Army reboot has landed – and it seems that advice was right.

Just like Jimmy Perry and David Croft’s iconic British comedy, the film will follow the Home Guard in 1944 as they ready themselves to invade France at the height of World War II. Michael Gambon, Bill Nighy, Toby Jones and Tom Courtenay are among the cast taking on the iconic roles of Captain Mainwaring, Corporal Jones and Pike. Catherine Zeta-Jones can be seen arriving as the sassy (and rather distracting) journalist Rose Winters.

As can be seen below, it looks like it will pay homage to the original whilst remaining fresh for an audience both old and new.

Directed by Oliver Parker and written by Hamish McColl, Dad’s Army will hit cinemas on 5th February 2016.
