10 totally mundane relationship dramas bound to occur in The Notebook TV series

Sure they’re totally passionate and adorable in the Nicholas Sparks story, but what happens when someone’s got to take the bins out, eh?

Author Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook is filled with romance, passion and adorable moments where lead characters Noah and Allie can barely breathe when the other isn’t around. At a recent outdoor screening of the 2004 film of the same name, my friends were all sobbing before Noah had even hung off the ferris wheel to get Allie to go out with him.

Today brings us the news that US network The CW are working with The Notebook’s author Nicholas Sparks to turn this classic tear-jerker into a TV series, following Allie and Noah as their relationship develops. According to Entertainment Weekly, if green lit, the series – which Sparks is executive producing – will show us what happens as the couple “build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”

All well and good, but some of these totally normal relationship gripes are bound to crop up. It can’t all be excitement and passion (right, right?!)
