The hero of the original trilogy is 32 years older when we catch up with him in The Force Awakens but Mark Hamill is staying tight-lipped about his new storyline. What we do know is that he recorded a new voiceover for the teaser trailer, which has lead to widespread speculation that Darth Vader could still be alive.
And though we’re yet to see his face on screen, the internet believes we’ve had our first glimpse of him – and his robotic hand – reaching out to R2-D2.
The original Star Wars heroine makes a welcome return to the big screen but will she be a princess or a queen? Carrie Fisher hasn’t confirmed Leia’s fate in The Force Awakens but there is one thing she’s certain about: that gold bikini is gone.
That doesn’t mean Leia will be without her gimmicks though. “We have an alternative thing I think you’ll be into,” she told the crowd at Star Wars Celebration.
Han Solo and Chewbacca
The icing on the cake of the second teaser trailer: Han and Chewie coming home in Star Wars Episode VII. Whether ‘home’ is the Millennium Falcon or a far off planet remains to be seen.
Kathleen Kennedy has confirmed that Ford’s Han Solo plays a rather big role in the new movie, so we can’t help but wonder if we’ll find him and Chewie attempting to beat their 12 par sec Kessell Run record on a rather important mission?
R2-D2 and C-3PO
We know they’ll be back, and re-telling the entire Star Wars saga in their own Lego Droid Tales but we’re still waiting to find out what they’ll be getting up to in The Force Awakens.
Could BB-8 steal their thunder?
Admiral Ackbar and Nien Nunb
A special behind-the-scenes video revealed some familiar looking faces in Episode VII’s creature shop.
Could it be that the Rebel fleet leader and Lando Calrissian’s co-pilot from Return of The Jedi are returning?
Could he awaken along with The Force? Well, stranger things have happened…
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens is in UK cinemas from December 18th
