Yes Huey Lewis, the power of love is indeed a glorious thing – but it’s nothing compared to the alien-bestowed abilities Simon Pegg has been given in this exclusive clip from Absolutely Anything.

In the film, Pegg’s teacher Neil is given reality-warping powers by a group of aliens (voiced by Monty Python veterans Michael Palin, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and director Terry Jones), and sets on a spree of self-improvement and fun. The film also stars Robin Williams in one of his final roles as the voice of Pegg’s talking dog Dennis.

In the above clip, we see Neil turn his powers to the fortunes of co-worker Ray (Sanjeev Bhaskar), who is hopelessly smitten with PE teacher Miss Pringle (Emma Pierson) despite her lack of interest. But with a little prod from Neil, she’s all over Ray – after all, as Pegg notes, with these tricks he can do Abso-fecking-lutely anything.

We’d be a little jealous, but we can’t help but feel some of Neil’s meddlings are going to have dire consequences…
