Do these clues suggest Fantastic Beasts is about to start filming?

The stars of JK Rowling's Potterverse prequel have been dropping hints that shooting is set to begin in London...

With over a year until its release, Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them already has us quivering with excitement.

We know we’re not alone. The internet has collectively buzzed as first Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne, then Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) signed up to JK Rowling’s return to the Potterverse to chart the adventures of magizoologist Newt Scamander.

And after producer David Heyman’s promise earlier this year that production will begin in “late summer”, the signs suggest that Fantastic Beasts is now on the brink of filming.

Let’s examine the evidence.

Besides Redmayne and Waterston, the film has two more confirmed cast members: Dan Fogler (Kung Fu Panda) is playing Jacob, Newt’s muggle rival, while Alison Sudol (Transparent) will portray Queenie – his future wife Porpentina’s sister.

While neither Redmayne and Waterston use social media, Fogler and Sudol more than make up for their absences. And BOTH are in the British capital, the home of Harry Potter and the location of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, where Fantastic Beasts will be filmed.

Two weeks ago Fantastic Beasts “stole” Fogler’s beard.

Then a week later – now with a moustache – he confirmed he was in London.

Meanwhile American singer-songwriter Alison has also crossed the pond to embark upon a #newchapter.

And she’s already a pro at seeking out magical breakfasts. We wonder what her “dreamy day” involved?

There’s the evidence. Two stars in London. In “late summer”. Clearly very pleased with themselves. Perhaps it’s time we packed our bags and started hovering around Warner Bros. Studios?
