Pete Docter is a man who understands emotion better than most. The writer and director of Pixar hit Inside Out spent six years learning about the inner workings of our brains and the effects that five core emotions – joy, sadness, fear, anger and disgust – have upon us.


The result is a film already hailed as one of the best Pixar releases of all time, so it’s no surprise that when we sat down for a chat, he had some interesting insights about the little voices that chatter away inside our heads.
