Soft Cell’s Tainted Love is a classic song of the 80s – but it’s been brought bang up to date in this pun-tastic video, which re-interprets the lyrics through the names of random Twitter users.

Confused? Well, opening lyric “sometimes, I feel I’ve got to….run away” instead becomes “Sam Tyne/PSY/Phill Ive/God 2… /Ronald Wray”, with various celebrities, business accounts and random users filling in the various blanks.

It’s hard to pick a favourite change, though the transformation of anguished lyric “You don’t really want any more from me” to “Jude O’Reilly/Juan Denny/Morph/Ron Meade” is particularly inspired. And I have to express a personal affection for the various uses of “Huw” as a substitute for you – finally, the Welsh are accepted into mainstream synth music.
