Ross’s baby secret is to be exposed next week when Debbie finds out that he is Moses Dingle’s father.
The bombshell comes just as Debbie is about to leave town with Ross and ditch Pete mere weeks before their wedding.
But when Cain finds out about Moses’s paternity, he delivers the news to Debbie, all of which throws her plans into disarray.
“Debbie is so disappointed. She feels like such a fool,” says Michael Parr, who plays Ross. “She was going to give up this happy life to be with this guy. And she gave Ross every opportunity to tell the truth, but because he was afraid, he didn’t. And then just before they’re about to leave, the news is told.”
As Debbie furiously interrogates Ross, he desperately tries to salvage things, but it’s clear that she’s finished with him.
“Ross is like a cat with nine lives. He thinks he’s managed to convince her that Moses is this tiny little problem, but she doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore,” continues the actor. “It breaks his heart.”
Yet despite his heartbreak, it seems that Ross will stop at nothing to wreck Debbie’s nuptials, even if it means hurting his own brother in the process.
“Pete is just somebody in his way. He genuinely loves Debbie and he thinks she’s way too good for Pete. So of course he’d cause trouble at the wedding. But not because he wants to ruin everybody’s lives. He thinks it’ll get him the girl.”
So could Ross be the one to tell Pete that he has been secretly sleeping with his bride to be in the run-up to the wedding?
“Well, he’s head over heels in love with Debbie. So I don’t think it’ll be much of a surprise that Ross has something to do with Pete finding out. And it’s going to turn his world upside down. The story certainly doesn’t stop here.”
