Chris Evans to appear on Top Gear much sooner than you thought
Calm down, he's not taking over from Jeremy Clarkson just yet...

The news is now out that Chris Evans is the new host of Top Gear, with the radio DJ and former TFI Friday host set to replace Jeremy Clarkson and lead a new version of the programme with as-yet-unknown fellow presenters.
But did you know you’ll be able to see Evans on the show as soon as this Saturday? Well, you will – and don’t go worrying that you’ve accidentally overslept a few months, or that TV production schedules have seriously sped up recently.
Instead, cast your mind back to 2009 and you might remember Evans appearing as the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car. He recorded a rainy lap in a Chevrolet Lacetti in an episode that will be repeated tomorrow at 7:45pm on BBC3.
It’s probably worth checking out to see how well Evans can handle the Top Gear banter, car talk and studio segments ahead of his actual takeover – even if he was more of backseat driver than actually holding the wheel at the time.
