The X-Files revival is about to begin filming
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are in Vancouver and Scully's red hair is back!

A mere three months after The X-Files revival was officially confirmed, the cast and crew have gathered in Vancouver and are poised to begin shooting the new series.
Creator Chris Carter will be back at the helm for the six new episodes, joined by returning stars David Duchovny (as Mulder) and Gillian Anderson who has already reverted from her preferred blonde to Scully’s famous red hair colour…

Meanwhile, her co-star has been tweeting snaps of his travels to and around their location in Canada where The X-Files also shot its first five series.

Duchovny isn’t the only one to share top secret documents from the set. Executive producer Glen Morgan still can’t believe it’s actually happening. Neither can we, Glen, neither can we…
Huh. All this time I suspected it might be a huge practical joke. Guess not. #XFilerevival Still might be, I suppose. pic.twitter.com/VX70rbaMRm

Don’t want to be obnoxious and burn everyone out, but wanted to share this sight. Made me a bit emotional. pic.twitter.com/dDQulmktXi

Meanwhile, Chris Carter’s has set up an Instagram account to confirm he will direct at least the first episode of the limited series and – surprise, surprise – it involves a UFO test.
The X-Files originally ran for nine series from 1993-2002, with two feature films (in 1998 and 2008) before its most recent revival. The new series is expected to include past cast members Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner and William B. Davis reprising The Smoking Man with Community’s Joel McHale also confirmed to play a conservative anchor of a popular internet news network.
With plot details still firmly under wraps, we’ll have to keep a close eye on social media as the cast get to work on fresh material in the coming weeks. The series’ 24th January 2016 release date still seems an awfully long way away.
