Rebecca Front reunites with Peter Capaldi in Doctor Who

The Thick of It actress will appear in a UNIT based two parter

Rebecca Front will team up with Peter Capaldi once again in Doctor Who series nine.

The two-parter –which also sees the return of the Zygons, UNIT, Osgood (Ingrid Oliver) and Kate Lethbridge-Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) – marks the first time Front has appeared in Doctor Who, but the pairing should be familiar to fans of The Thick of It. After all, you don’t forget this in a hurry…

[Warning: extremely strong language]

One of Britain’s most well known comic actresses, Front also recently appeared in Up the Women and Death Comes to Pemberley where she played… wait for it… Jenna Coleman’s mother.

In case you’re not keeping up with the drip-drip of press releases, other guest stars announced for this series include Maisie Williams, Rufus Hound, Paul Kaye and Jaye Griffiths.

Also returning this year is Michelle Gomez as Missy. That’s the same Michelle Gomez who co-stars with Front in Psychobitches.

[Again, swearing and Scottishness warning]

Just to complete the set, Front’s fellow Thick of It co-star Chris Addison also appeared throughout the last series.

Our point is, how on Earth has Rebecca Front not been in Doctor Who until now? We guess it was only a matter of time.
