Christian Grey wants to set the record straight.
Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James has revealed she is planning a new version of the book – this time written from Grey’s point of view.
The closely-guarded new Fifty Shades instalment will be released on 18th June – Christian’s birthday, don’t you know – and will go back to the beginning of the ‘dominant’s’ relationship with Anastasia Steele.
“This book is dedicated to those readers who asked… and asked… and asked… and asked for this,” James writes in the opening page.
“Christian is a complex character, and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past,” she explained.
“Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place — writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage.”
Meanwhile, the next instalment in the movie franchise, Fifty Shades Darker, will go ahead without director Sam Taylor-Johnson. EL James’s husband Niall Leonard is writing the screenplay and stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson back on board, with the film aiming to be in cinemas in February 2017.
