Caroline Flack will be heading to the beach to host ITV2’s revamped Love Island, but the presenter has vetoed any talk of wearing a bikini.
“I’m not going to wear a bikini,” Flack told RadioTimes.com. “They asked me to wear a bikini on screen and I was like, ‘No, no!’”
Flack said show bosses asked if it was an idea that could even be discussed, but she quite simply said, “No”.
We were thinking Sinitta’s leaf bikini was going to get a run for its money, but on this Flack’s firm.
“I hate that because that means there’s going to be photographers there. Getting photographed on the beach is the worst experience ever. It’s awful.”
Instead, Flack has an idea for her Love Island look: “I’m going to be out there in like a boiler suit,” she joked.
After all, the presenter is hoping the heat will be coming from the contestants’ love lives, rather than her choice of attire. The Love Islanders, this time members of the public rather than celebrities, will enjoy various dates as they seek romance and try and avoid being voted out by the public.
“They all know why they’re going in, they’re all open to love. Maybe some want real love, some want nightly love…” Flack teased.
While the trailer promised all manner of shenanigans, including adultery, Flack confirmed that they’re all single – “as far as we know” – and all looking for new love.
“Something’s going to happen,” Flack insisted.
And if it does, it’s all going to be happening under the covers. “There’s a rule,” Flack said, adding with a smile: “It’s all natural isn’t it?”
Love Island comes to ITV2 on June 7th
