Are you a binge drinker?

As BBC2's Horizon investigates the health risks of different drinking patterns, here's a quiz to see whether you can separate the hard facts from the drinking myths...

We hear the term ‘binge drinking’ a lot – but what does it really mean?

The UK’s drinking guidelines are currently under review and in tonight’s Horizon twin presenters Dr Chris and Dr Xand van Tulleken are investigating how our drinking patterns affect our health. They want to know whether moderate daily drinking can be good for you – and whether binge drinking is really that bad for you.

Now we won’t tell you what the van Tullekens discovered (tune in to BBC2 at 9pm to find that out) but we thought it was the perfect opportunity to test our knowledge.

It’s time to find out how much you really know about units, recommended daily allowances and the effect of too much booze on your health…

The questions in this quiz are based on the current NHS guidelines. If you’re worried about the amount you or someone you know is drinking, the NHS website offers help and advice
