We can imagine that many a viewer of upcoming dystopian sequel/reboot Mad Max: Fury Road wouldn’t mind being chained to lead actor Tom Hardy for a few hours – but according to co-star Nicholas Hoult, it wasn’t all fun and games.

In an exclusive video, Hoult (who plays the manic Nux in the film) describes the difficulties that arose when the two were tied together for the purposes of plot (Hardy’s Max supporting Hoult’s character with a continuous blood transfusion) and Tom Hardy would go wandering around set, dragging Hoult along behind him.

“I’d just follow him around, trying not to intrude on conversations,” says Hoult, “kind of like a strange, useless bodyguard tag-along.”

Talk about becoming close to your castmates on set…
