If you didn’t get your fix of Bear Grylls tormenting celebrities in the wild with ITV’s Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, then you’re in luck – the second series of the adventurer’s US series Running Wild will feature even more stars struggling with nature.
The new run will see Titanic actress Kate Winslet put through the wringer on the NBC series, with other weekly guests including Chronicle’s Michael B Jordan, X-Men’s James Marsden, Kate Hudson, Ed Helms, Michelle Rodriguez, Drew Bees and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Partnering with the survivalist for two days of one-on-one adventuring, each star will journey through some of the world’s most difficult terrains as they tackle activities like skydiving and abseiling. This year, Running Wild is expected to visit areas ranging from the Italian Alps and the Rocky Mountain range in America to the jungles of Panama and the Red Rocks of Utah.
Describing the series, Grylls said: “It has been such a privilege to adventure alongside these iconic men and women – and this season has made for some unforgettable journeys.
“The excitement of being dropped into uncharted territory and tackling the wilderness head on, in the way we do, can be both daunting and very draining, but it is also very empowering when we finally make it out in one piece.”
He added: “Along the way we get to see the stars we love in a totally authentic way as they face a few demons and come through it stronger. And that’s the beating heart of Running Wild.”
