Missing Poldark? Eddie Marsan promises to make your Sunday nights magical

The Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell actor jokes that he could be the next Aidan Turner

Has the end of Poldark left you positively bereft? Well have no fear, because Eddie Marsan is here to liven up your Sunday nights.

The actor joked that there would still be “plenty of totty on Sunday nights” when new fantasy drama Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell airs next Sunday 17th May on BBC1.

Marsan plays the reclusive magician Mr Norrell, while actor Bertie Carvell performs as magical hopeful Jonathan Strange.

The seven-part drama is adapted from the novel by Susanna Clarke, and also features The Musketeers actor Marc Warren and Beautiful Creatures actress Alice Englert.

Marsan may not be able to match Aidan Turner’s abs, but the star of the BBC’s new drama can bring a little sorcery of his own to Sunday nights.
