Disney’s new Beauty and the Beast is set to bolster to its already impressive cast with another well-known British star.
Ewan McGregor is in final talks to join Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson and Luke Evans in the live-action remake of the classic French fairytale, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The 44-year-old Scottish-born star, whose CV includes Star Wars, Moulin Rouge!, Trainspotting and The Impossible, is poised to play Lumiere, a chatty and charming candelabra.
The character has a major part in classic song Be Our Guest and shares most of his scenes with Emma Watson’s Belle, as well as McKellen’s Cogsworth and Thompsons’ Mrs Potts, the teapot.
