EastEnders spoilers: June Whitfield debuts as a nun who comes to Kat’s aid – first look pictures

Whitfield's character will be based at the convent where Kat gave birth to Zoe

Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is to confront her traumatic past next week with the help of a Sister Ruth (guest star June Whitfield).

Scenes to be shown on Thursday 30 April will see Kat visit the convent where she gave birth to Zoe and – with Sister Ruth by her side – takes a trip down memory lane.

The character is currently being seen recovering after a recent suicide bid and the trip to the convent will find Kat attempting to move on with her life.

“Once she recovers from the overdose she wants answers about her past,” a source recently told the Daily Star Sunday. “That’s where June’s character comes in. She plays a nun and Kat hopes she’ll provide her with the answers she needs.”

Whitfield’s one-episode guest appearance was announced back in March, with the actress herself commenting: “I have watched EastEnders for years and have been so impressed by the standard of acting.

It was an absolute delight to work with Jessie Wallace and I am very excited to be part of the show.”
