Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd to lead London Back To The Future reunion

Marty McFly and Doc Brown will join the rest of the cast of the iconic time travel film at London Film and Comic Con later this year

UK Back to The Future fans are in for a real treat as Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd will both attend the film’s 30th anniversary celebrations at London Film and Comic Con in July.

Official Showmasters – the organisation running Return to the Future activities throughout the year –  revealed the news via Facebook, much to the delight of fans.

The pair will join Lea Thompson (Marty’s mum Lorraine), Claudia Wells (the original Jennifer from the first film), James Tolkan (Strickland), Marc McClure (Dave), Harry Waters Jr (Marvin Berry), Donald Fullilove (Goldie), Jeffrey Weissman (who replaced Crispin Glover as young George McFly for the sequels), Frances Lee McCain (Stella) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data).

Showmasters has confirmed that Fox will be in attendance across all three days of the convention, from the 17th to 19th of July. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos with the film’s stars, the DeLorean and the clock tower for a fee. There will also be a Q&A with all the cast, featuring questions submitted by fans.

The focus isn’t just on the 30th anniversary, though: Showmasters is also raising money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research through their ‘Up To 88!’ Campaign, in association with Team Fox. The actor was first diagnosed with the degenerative illness in 1991 and established his Foundation in 2000 with the aim of finding a cure for the disease.

The event is just one of a number planned for 2015. A new crowd-funded documentary about the making of the movie is due for release later this year, and Keith Lemon’s headed “back t’future” with McBusted on ITV2.
