Coronation Street spoilers: Sinead takes her first steps with crutches – but why is Chesney upset?

Three months on from the minibus crash that left her with no feeling in her legs, Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) is to take her first steps with the aid of crutches during scenes to be shown next week.

But partner Chesney (Sam Aston) is to feel a pang of jealousy when he witnesses the bond between Sinead and fellow patient Sam (Peter Mitchell), upon whom she’s become increasingly reliant during her time in hospital.

However, Ches is sure to feel reassured when – after being told by the doctor that she’s ready to return home – it’s to him that Sinead turns, giving her boyfriend an elated hug.

Later on though, as Sinead prepares to leave hospital, it’s clear that she’s nervous – and Sam is the one to offer moral support. Just what does the future hold?
