Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies) is to bid farewell to Coronation Street next week after breaking up with partner Anna Windass (Debbie Rush).
Owen and Anna will have a massive bust-up in the wake of Faye (Ellie Leach) giving birth and the teen mum will come to blame herself for the split.
After Owen assures Faye that what’s happened is not her fault, he tries to build bridges with Anna. But when Anna makes it clear that they’re finished, Owen drops the bombshell on his family that he’s leaving for good.
In scenes to be shown on Wednesday 15 April, Faye will be seen accosting Owen in the cafe and begging him not to go. And while Owen tells her that he doesn’t have a choice, he also makes Faye promise to be honest with Anna about her feelings towards the baby.
Faye plucks up the courage to tell Anna that she doesn’t want to keep her daughter, but with emotions running high as Owen says his goodbyes, will Faye be able to find the words?
Speaking recently about his exit from Coronation Street, actor Ian Puleston-Davies said: “I don’t mind having a break from Owen – I need some space from him. He’s been quite an exhausting character to play and he’s annoying – his attitude has really got on my nerves at times.
“But I’ve loved my time at Corrie. I’ve joked that I’ll miss the buildings and not the people, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.
“I’ve made some great friends and had a fantastic five years. Now, I’m heading to Cumbria and the North East to do Beowulf for ITV, which starts filming in a couple of weeks. So I’m going from builder on the cobbles to riding a horse in the countryside.”
