Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond live tour will go ahead – but not as Top Gear

The live arena shows will be renamed Clarkson, Hammond and May Live with rescheduled dates in Australia and Norway

Top Gear’s former trio Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond will fulfil the remaining dates of their Live Tour – but there will be no Top Gear branding for the event.

Clarkson, who was axed from the TV series by the BBC earlier this month, will join up with James May and Richard Hammond to fulfil the remaining dates – but under the name Clarkson, Hammond and May Live.

BBC Worldwide confirmed that a decision has also been made to reschedule the events planned for Sydney in April and July of this year. They will instead be staged in Melbourne on July 18 and 19 and Sydney on July 25 and 26.

The live shows due to have taken place in Stavanger, Norway, last weekend have been re-scheduled to June 20 and 21.

A BBC Worldwide statement said: “So as not to disappoint the thousands of people around the world who have already purchased tickets, BBC Worldwide has agreed with our joint venture partner Brand Events that the remainder of the tour can continue. These events will not however feature any BBC Top Gear branding or content. We believe this is a sensible approach in the circumstances.”

Brand Events said in a statement: “This is a great solution for the fans. We’d like to thank our ticket holders for their continued patience. The fans are the most important people to Jeremy, Richard and James so we’re delighted to be able to say ‘we’re still coming’. We’re sure it’ll be something you won’t want to miss.”
