Is the Supergirl reboot bringing back the Daily Planet building from Lois and Clark?

Fans of the hit 90s series will be delighted to see the familiar newspaper office facade is still standing

It broke many an exclusive Superman story and facilitated one of TV’s most famous romances so would you blame the powers that be behind CBS’s new Supergirl reboot for wanting to film near the Daily Planet office from Lois and Clark?

The building, which originally featured in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (starring Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher in the title roles) is still standing on the Warner Bothers lot.

Supergirl producer Andrew Kreisberg (who also works on both Arrow and The Flash) tweeted a teasing snap of it and it wasn’t long before eagle eyed fans put two and two together.

It’s not the only nod Supergirl is making to its DC predecessor though.

The main man himself, Dean Cain, has been cast alongside the original female superhero Helen Slater. There’s been no confirmation as regards their exact roles but they’re believed to be playing Supergirl’s adoptive parents Calista ‘Ally McBeal” Flockhart will also star as her boss.

As for the titular heroine? Well, her name has been changed from Linda Lee Danvers/Kara Zor-El to plain old Kara Danvers. She’ll be played by Glee singer turned Whiplash star Melissa Benoist.

Now all they need to do is find a role for Teri Hatcher to complete the super set.
