James Franco to try to save JFK in Stephen King adaptation 11/22/63

Nine part time-travelling sci-fi series for America's Hulu streaming service

James Franco is out to save the president, if rumours are true.

The Hollywood Reporter reports the actor will star in an adaptation of Stephen King’s 11/22/63 –that’s 22/11/63 in British money – a time-travelling adventure where a high school English teacher tries to stop Kennedy’s assassination.

As in every time-travelling adventure out to save JFK, it doesn’t go according to plan.

The show will be produced for the Hulu streaming service, which at the moment is only available in America. The show will be made by Bad Robot, J.J. Abrams’ (Star Trek/Wars) production studio, with King and Franco attached as producers and a script from Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights).

11/22/63 was a bestseller when released back in 2011 by thriller writer King.

Hulu are reportedly calling it an ‘event mini-series’, which in the grinding Newspeak of Hollywood means it might be a one-off.

So the question is: which other historical figure should Franco save? We reckon Socrates, if only to see James in a tunic trying to speak Ancient Greek.
