Funny woman Kristen Wiig showed her serious side at Sunday’s Grammy awards when she helped pop singer Sia put the spotlight on her chart-topper Chandelier.
Wiig joins the likes of Lena Dunham and American talk show host Jimmy Kimmel who have both helped the singer –who prefers to be anonymous and therefore performs hidden – carry out the song in front of a live audience. Shia LaBeouf introduced the comic actress and his Elastic Heart costar Maggie Ziegler, both dressed in matching blonde bobs and heavy jumpsuits.
In the same vein as Sia’s latest two music videos, the setting resembled an overcrowded attic. Wiig and Ziegler battled it out rhythmically, eventually stripping down to the much-parodied nude leotards made famous by the Chandelier video and ending the dance in a tight embrace.
Sia walked away from the awards show empty-handed, despite four nominations for her album 1000 Forms of Fear including record of the year and song of the year.
Wiig is making a comeback to the mainstream in the Ghostbusters reboot after quietly working her magic in indie films like Skeleton Twins and the acclaimed comedy series Spoils of Babylon.
