Three years after the demise of BBC1’s long-running espionage drama, MI5’s counter-terrorism unit are making their big screen debut next spring.
Peter Firth is reprising his role as beleaguered boss Harry Pearce, while Sherlock’s Lara Pulver (otherwise known as dominatrix Irene Adler) will also be returning to headquarters. Newcomers include Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington.
The action will centre on a charismatic terrorist (played by Casualty alumnus Elyes Gabel), who escapes from MI5 custody during a high profile handover. Pearce is blamed, forced to resign, and apparently makes a watery exit, hightailing it off a bridge into the Thames.
Enter former agent Will Holloway (Harington), who is back from Moscow and uncovers the truth they feared: Harry’s still alive and has gone rogue.…
