Of course, Doctor Who fans will be hoping that the publicity-shy Eccleston can be persuaded to say a few words about his stint as the Time Lord, which saw him re-launch the BBC sci-fi show for a new generation in 2005 before leaving after just one series.

The One Show will also feature the FA Cup Fifth Round Draw, with Gary Lineker and Alex selecting the balls. Meanwhile, an 80 year old mountaineer takes on one of Britain’s toughest climbs, and there’s a visit to the housing project that’s helping homeless military veterans back on their feet.
