Breaking Bad’s Dean Norris joins The Secret in Their Eyes remake

Crime thriller casts Norris alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts

Breaking Bad star Dean Norris has been cast in the remake of Argentine crime thriller The Secret in Their Eyes, which won an Oscar for best foreign language film in 2010.

Norris joins an impressive cast list, which includes 12 Years A Slave’s Chiwetel Ejifor, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts, with The Hunger Games writer Billy Ray directing and penning the screenplay, reports Deadline.

The story follows a former assistant district attorney (Ejiofor) who is haunted by an unsolved murder and returns to LA to work with the FBI. He starts writing a novel in an attempt to solve the mystery of the case, as his former colleagues struggled to help. Roberts will play a friend whose daughter was murdered many years ago.

Norris, who is best known for playing DEA agent Hank Schrader in award-winning hit Breaking Bad, joins the cast as a district attorney.

Norris has most recently been working on historical mini-series Sons of Liberty and Stephen King sci-fi drama Under the Dome.
