New Ant-Man images give us a closer look at Paul Rudd’s superhero costume

Marvel’s newly-released pictures also offer a look at the film’s villain, played by House of Cards' Corey Stoll

We got a brief look at some images and concept art for upcoming superhero movie Ant-Man earlier this week, but now Marvel Studios have released a lot more to give us a better idea of how this offbeat take on the genre will play out.

The pictures include our first proper look at star Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man suit, which gives him the ability to shrink to a tiny size and communicate with insects – but in another image the suit appears to need repairing. Also Ant-man seems to spend a lot of time in the shower for some reason.

The new images also include concept art for the film’s villain Yellowjacket (House of Cards’ Corey Stoll), who steals the Ant-Man technology to build a superior version of the suit for nefarious purposes.

Other new sights include a high-res look at Ant-Man riding an Ant (as one does) and Lost’s Evangeline Lily as Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of suit creator Henry Pym (Michael Douglas) and love interest for Rudd’s character Scott Lang. You can see them and other pictures in the gallery below.

Ant-Man will be released in UK cinemas on the 17th of July 2015
