The Apprentice finalist Mark Wright: “if Lord Sugar throws the towel in, I’m the man”

The online salesman says he’s told The Apprentice production team he fancies Lord Sugar’s job. Their response is brilliant...

We’ve got to wait until Sunday to find out if Mark Wright will win this year’s series of The Apprentice. It’ll come down to whether Lord Sugar wants to pump £250,000 into Bianca Miller’s hosiery business idea or Mark’s online sales plan. But Australian-born Mark has got another idea for his future, anyway: stepping into Sugar’s shoes on The Apprentice.

Yep, Mark’s so keen to succeed Lord Sugar as the boardroom master, he admits he’s shared his idea with the show’s crew.

“I’ve already talked to the production team and said if Lord Sugar throws the towel in, I’m the man,” Mark laughs to

And their response was rather brilliant…

“They said, ‘I think there’s some life in the old dog yet’,” Mark admits.

We’ll pop that one down as “on the back burner”, eh?

In the meantime, Mark would like to emulate 2012 winner Ricky Martin’s success, after he returned as an interviewer and consultant on this year’s show.

“Ricky, fair play to the guy, he’s won the process and gone away and done a successful business and then come back as an advisor. That’s an amazing journey for him and I’d love to replicate that.”

Vote for who you want to see win here.
