BBC1 crime thriller The Missing has been recommissioned for a second series.
The news came right after the credits rolled on Tuesday’s series finale, which saw hotel owner Alain reveal what really happened to young boy Oliver Hughes.
Writers Jack and Harry Williams had already hinted there could be a second series, saying it was “in negotiations.”
The news was confirmed on Tuesday night right after the credits. Detective Julien Baptiste spoke in voiceover, before those three little words flashed up on screen.
“A New Case,” it read. “The Missing Will Return.”
Julien’s voiceover was typically cryptic. “To lose somebody can destroy a person,” he said as a girl rocked backwards and forwards on a rusty swing. “But to find them again, when so much has passed, that can be worse.”
