Strictly’s Ola Jordan forced to pull out of The Jump due to injury

Channel 4 confirm the professional dancer has had to leave after sustaining an injury in training

Strictly Come Dancing professional Ola Jordan has had to pull out of next year’s winter sports-themed reality show The Jump after an accident in training.

“Unfortunately Ola can no longer take part in The Jump due to injury,” a spokesperson for Channel 4 has confirmed.

It’s thought the dancer has injured her leg and hips whilst in training, ahead of the show’s return in 2015.

Recovery is certainly Ola’s priority, but in terms of her role as a professional dancer on the current series of Strictly, it’s not thought Ola was due to perform in this weekend’s group performance. Sources close to the show confirm she also won’t be performing next week.

The Jump, which launched with its first series last year, saw many of the contestants suffer injuries. Retired England cricketer Darren Gough alone listed a sprained wrist, a cracked rib, ligament damage and a gash in his right leg among his injuries. “My body’s just about stuck together,” he told at the time.

We wish Ola a speedy and full recovery.
