Christmas is here! How do we know? Because the Radio Times Christmas issue has just landed in the office.
Hot off the press, the bumper festive edition is packed full of interviews, reviews and the best TV and radio listings in the business.
But, most importantly… the cover. When deciding who to charge with designing the front of this year’s magazine, there was one very special lady in the frame. At 91 years old, she’s the same age as Radio Times.
Beloved children’s author Judith Kerr – who brought the nation The Tiger Who Came to Tea and the Mog books – has created a festive treat of a cover to herald the 292 pages of Christmas content.
Kerr brings decades of experience to her cover, but it’s not the first time she’s illustrated for Radio Times. “When I was at art school in London in the 1940s I drew a racehorse for Radio Times,” she tells us. “I didn’t know what racehorses looked like so I drew one grinning. I’d never been asked to do anything else… until now!”
The Radio Times Christmas issue is available in London tomorrow (Saturday 6th December) and nationwide from Wednesday
