The brainy model is to make her radio drama debut playing the ravishing Helen in The Last Days of Troy written by poet, playwright and novelist Simon Armitage, RadioTimes.com can reveal.

The Radio 4 drama, which will air over two weeks in January, completes Homer’s Iliad by bringing the Trojan war to a brutal conclusion. Cole has already played the role on stage at the Royal Exchange, Manchester.

“Beyond the battlefield, the original tale is a back-room story of wounded pride, and the push and pull of family ties and national loyalty – tense and intriguing, with moments of great tragedy and breath-taking humility,” says the writer.
