First Jurassic World trailer shows dinosaurs in action

Jurassic Park is open – and it looks like a delightful day out for the whole family

Following a teaser trailer earlier this week, the first trailer for action-adventure reboot Jurassic World is here – and it’s dino-tastic.

It’s clear that things have moved on a lot in the 22 years since 1993’s original Jurassic Park – Isla Nubar is now fully functional, with plenty of nifty transport links and an adorable Seaworld-style dino splash zone.

However, the temptation of scientists to play God remains as strong as ever, resulting in them creating a spanking new dinosaur to really pack in the crowds – only for things to go a bit off-piste when it busts out of its cell.

We get to see the consequences of the mysterious new monster’s escape with some damaged vehicles, crushed workmen helmets and scenes of utter panic from the fun-seeking crowds. Our heroes, velociraptor handler and smoulderer Owen (Chris Pratt) and scientist Claire  (Bryce Dallas Howard) have to make a run for it as well, resulting in lots of jumping, yelling and a cool motorcycle chase.

We also see Gray (Ty Simpkins, above) apparently confronted by a deadly creature in a shadowy room – could this be an homage to a scene from the original Jurassic Park, where two children hid from velociraptors in a shadowy kitchen?

Either way, it looks like Isla Nubar is as memorable a holiday destination as ever.

Jurassic World will be released on the 12th of June 2015
