It’s like Halloween all over again for the X Factor acts, with the news that this weekend will see another double elimination.
As with the spooky twist at the start of the month, the act with the lowest number of viewer votes on Saturday will be sent on their way, without as much as a sing-off.
Come Sunday it’ll be business as usual with the two bottom acts performing, before the judges decide who will leave.
With just seven acts left it certainly puts the pressure on the singers, who this weekend are taking on Whitney Houston or Elton John tracks.
It’s also pressure for the mentors, with both Cheryl and Mel with only one act apiece – Lauren Platt and Andrea Faustini, respectively. Mr Cowell remains the judge with the most contestants left, having only lost his first, Jay James, last week.
While the singers are trying to stay confident, Stevi Ritchie tells RadioTimes.com he’s pretty sure his time is up. “Whether it’s Saturday or Sunday, I’ll be one of the ones that goes this weekend,” he says. But if that’s true, he’s determined to go out with a bang. Expect a nice gold get up…
The X Factor continues on Saturday and Sunday at 8:00pm on ITV
