The X Factor final is fast approaching and as the contestants’ thoughts turn to their future careers, Simon Cowell’s overs act Stevi Ritchie is pretty certain about one thing: “I’ll never get a record deal.”

“If I’m honest, I won’t,” he tells RadioTimes.com. “I’d love to, but I never will.”

A stint on stage in a West End musical might be more likely he says: “Phantom, like I did here. If I could do something like that it would be amazing.”

Ideally, though, he’d like to head back to X Factor next year and be involved as a host, perhaps on ITV2 with Sarah-Jane, or on the main show itself.

“He’s going to kill me for saying this, I would love Dermot’s job. He’s Mr Saturday night telly. I can never take that away from him.

“But if I could do a bit of presenting, I’d be happy,” says Stevi (and it’s not as if he doesn’t have the experience).

In light of former X Factor contestant Jake Quickenden having hopped straight over to Australia to take part in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! perhaps Stevi would consider doing another reality show?

“I don’t think I could do the jungle, but if you were to say to me, ‘Would you go in the Celeb Big Brother House?’, I might do that. No one’s approached me about it yet, if they do I’ll consider it. I’ve always loved Big Brother.”
