New Insurgent teaser trailer is enigmatic

Shailene Woodley appears to be caught in a "fear landscape" that reveals little about what’s happened to fugitives Tris and Four

The first teaser trailer for Divergent sequel Insurgent has been released, but it gives very little away about the fate of our heroes Tris and Four, who have fled the ruling of the power-hungry Erudite elite.

Tris (played by Shailene Woodley) appears to be caught in the dream-like fear landscapes we saw in the first film. She’s making a futile attempt to save her mother (Ashley Judd) who died in a conflict between the factions at the end of the first film.

It is dramatic though: Tris is leaping off crumbling buildings as Chicago burns around her.

But where’s Four (played by Theo James)? They fled together, determined to escape their brainwashed faction and uncover the truth of Jeanine’s (Kate Winslet) plan to eradicate every member of Abnegation, which has seen their own friends kill and be killed, Tris’s family crushed and the factions torn apart.

Are they rallying the other factions? Have they been abandoned by everyone they know and love? Are Tris and Four still in love? So many questions, so few answers..unless you’ve read Veronica Roth’s trilogy of course.

The film doesn’t come out until spring, so this is likely to be the first of many tantalising teasers. Let’s hope for more answers in the next.
